Jessica King Retains & , in Eddie Maher Matter
RELEASED: February 24, 2012
SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- Attorneys from the southern Missouri law firm & , have been retained by Jessica King to represent her interests in the Eddie Maher matter.
The Eddie Maher story is one of the more intriguing events to occur in the Ozarks in recent times. Had it not been for his daughter-in-law Jessica King’s courage, Maher would still be at large after nearly 20 years as an international fugitive.
King tipped off local police about her father-in-law Eddie Maher – dubbed “Fast Eddie” – being wanted in the U.K. for the 1993 robbery of an armored truck. Reportedly the equivalent of about $1.5 million in cash was stolen.
Police arrested Maher in Ozark and he is being held in the Greene County jail without bond for immigration violations. He appeared Feb. 22 at a preliminary hearing in U.S. District Court for possessing firearms as an illegal alien.
After King gave an interview to the New York Times soon after Maher was taken into custody, she realized that she wanted legal representation to guide her through the press bombardment and to steer her through other legal matters relating to this amazing story.
King alleges that Maher threatened to kill her and that her husband, Maher’s son Lee, became abusive.
Springfield lawyers of & , are assisting with her divorce, all press coverage, media agreements and collection of a reward of 100,000 pounds. They have already contacted the U.K. firm connected to the monetary reward offered years ago in the armored-car robbery.
