Robert F. Torp

Springfield, Missouri

I grew-up in a working class family in a small Michigan town. After graduating high school I went to work in a local factory running a drill press. After other simular factory jobs I went to college in 1986 to become an industrial engineer and completed 3/4 of the requirement before having to drop out for financial reasons. I got a job as an industrial engineer at a manufacturing company in Kalamazoo, MI and eventually became the second shift plant manager. In 1993 I decided to pursue law and returned to college, this time to pursue a degree in political science graduating in 1995. After graduation I worked at a manufacturing company in Jackson, MI and in Lansing, MI saving my money for law school. In 1997 I began law school and met my soon to be wife Angela. Angela had just completed law school and passed the Missouri Bar. We were married in 1998 and upon my graduation from law school we moved to Springfield, MO. I have always been a people's lawyer representing individuals in need of legal services. In my mind the greatest calling of a lawyer is to use their skills for the benefit of average folks in need of superior legal representation and that has been the focus of my legal practice from the beginning. I came from a very average background with the intent to help average people.
